Many people think operating a bucket truck is simple and safe. Ironically, those people that think that typically, have never done it.  Safe operation in bucket trucks is incredibly important and no easy task. Caution must be taken at all times to prevent accidents like electrocution, tip overs, wrecks, falling debris, and many more.

On average, 26 people die every year as a result of a bucket truck accident. Currently, that number is on the decline due to proper safety training and more cautious bucket truck operating. Don't become a statistic, use the proper safety devices and exercise care when working in a utility truck.

Be sure to follow OSHA safety instructions as well as company safety policies. While some of these steps may seem tedious or painfully obvious, they are extremely important and are there to keep you safe. Never get comfortable and in a routine where you could jeopardize your safety.

Wear proper safety equipment like your lanyard  while working in the bucket. Also, be careful at the work site. Whether you're a lineman or forestry worker, follow the proper safety guidelines. All to often you hear of a lineman getting electrocuted or bucket trucks getting energized. Those incredibly dangerous and often tragic situations can be avoided with safety.
